How our little dream began…

We began in 2020 as two local Waiuku mums with a shared love for beautiful, meaningful things. Dee’s business, Rimu Gully, crafted handmade soaps, balms and beeswax candles inspired by nature. Kendal’s business, The Foliage Box, offered unique indoor plants and thoughtfully chosen planters.

What started as two small ventures quickly revealed a natural partnership. Our products complemented each other perfectly, and we soon found ourselves dreaming about a cosy boutique in our hometown. When a little corner shop became available just off Waiuku’s main street, we took a deep breath—despite lockdowns and uncertainty—and decided to give our dream a chance.

In 2025, Botanica on Bowen grew again, moving into a larger and more vibrant space, with Dee taking on full ownership. The heart of the brand remains the same: thoughtfully sourced gifts, artisan-made products, home décor, natural skincare and botanicals designed to bring joy, beauty and a touch of nature into everyday life.
